I am Anselmo Moreno and I'm Richard David, and we are back again for another episode to help all of you master your credit score and get those extra points that you deserve. Today, we are broadcasting from beautiful downtown Bakersfield, and we're going to be discussing disputing items on your credit report. Specifically, we'll be covering the difference between paper disputes and online disputes. This has been a point of contention for us ever since online disputes became an option. A great question was posed to us by one of our Instagram followers, and that question will be the main topic of discussion today: online disputes versus paper disputes. Richard, what are your thoughts on this matter? As a consultant, I have to advise that, in my opinion, paper disputes are better. However, there are pros and cons to each side. So today, we're going to educate our listeners on the benefits and drawbacks of both methods. In a previous episode, Episode 9, we discussed legitimate credit repair strategies and even provided a credit repair dispute letter template. We encourage consumers to use this template as a starting point, modify it to fit their specific situation, and send it via traditional mail to the credit bureau(s) involved. This allows the credit bureau(s) to conduct a thorough investigation, as consumers have the right to request under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This Act was developed to protect consumers from unfair credit reporting practices and was revised in 2011 to include the option of online disputes. It's important to note that they don't call it "online disputes," but rather "expedited dispute resolution."
