In this video, we are going to explain how to fix a common problem when sending an email from your Max Mail app. You have finished writing an important email and you're ready to send it. Instead of sending, Mail pops up with an error complaining that it could not send your message. First, don't panic. The solution is normally really simple. When the error message pops up, take note of what it says, just in case you need to contact tech support. Often, the error messages tell us exactly what's wrong. For now, click 'try later'. This will hold your message in the out while you work on fixing the problem. Click the Mail menu and select 'Preferences'. On the accounts tab, make sure to select the account that you're trying to send from. If you have more than one email account, click the outgoing mail server drop-down menu and select 'Edit SMTP Server List'. In the Advanced tab, let's turn on the feature to automatically correct and maintain account settings. Also, we see that you're using port 25. Port 25 is often blocked by most Internet service providers. Let's change the port to 587 and turn on SSL for encrypted sending. While you're working, Mail may try to send your message again. Just ignore it and move on. Most mail services, including ours, require SSL and that you authenticate outgoing email. Select 'Password' from the authentication drop-down menu.
