I have recently updated the calendar link on my website to provide information about the educational events I will be conducting in January 2021. Currently, there are four events listed, and I plan to add a couple more. One of these events will focus solely on nexus statements. I have observed significant confusion among veterans regarding this topic. Many are unfamiliar with the term "independent medical opinion" and don't understand what constitutes a nexus statement. They are unsure about what information should be included in a nexus statement to make it effective for rating purposes. Additionally, many veterans are unaware of when to utilize a nexus statement and when it is unnecessary. Therefore, I am dedicating an entire event to discuss nexus statements and provide examples of medical opinions and rationales.
