True" South Dakota Alternative Instruction Notification Online Reporting System Instructions for the Parent or Guardian. All families who practice alternative instruction or homeschool their children must report their alternative instruction status using the online alternative instruction notification system or the paper notification system starting from the 2021-2022 school year. Once a notification has been submitted for a child, the parent is not required to submit a notification again unless there is a transition that takes place. To submit a notification through the online system, start by accessing the South Dakota Maine Access Portal at mysd.sd.gov and set up your personal account. The system may require you to verify your identity by sending a code to your email address. Please follow the prompts and be sure to save your password for future use. If you already have an account in mysd.sd.gov, simply log in and select available services in My SD. Expand the Community, Family, and Health Services tab and add alternative instruction notification to your services. Doing this will take you to the alternative instruction notification reporting system. On the Getting Started screen, select the Edit Profile page. This profile is for the parent or guardian and should be completed before adding children to the system. Please make sure to choose your resident district as part of the physical address section.
