Becca Toms from Solid Ground, a program of UConn Expansion, and I just wanted to let you know about some great grant opportunities that we have available to Connecticut farmers in this new year. So, we have really a lot of good opportunities, about six grants we're going to talk about real quick that we're going to dive into, but really want to encourage you all that if you have questions, you are welcome to reach out to us over at Solid Ground. But the best folks to reach out to are going to be the organizations that are providing the grants, they're going to be able to help you with your questions and make sure that your application is top-notch for these grants and stipends. So first of all, the first grant we have is the American Farmland Trust's micro-grant. This one is due very soon, so make sure you get your information together. It is mostly for livestock operations, but that doesn't mean that other folks shouldn't apply. These are grants specifically for New England farmers, so check out their website, find out more information, and put your grant in. So next, we have our own UConn Solid Ground stipends for beginning farmers. This one we opened at the end of last year and applications are due January 21st. So the funds can be used for a lot of different things, relatively open, but if you want to find out more information or share this with folks, you can find us on our new farms.you Solid Ground stipend's website, and it's going to be a really good, easy way to potentially get up to two thousand dollars to help you with your farm.
