True" Hello, welcome to the new video from City Ink Express. Today, we're going to take a look at installing and using ICC printer profiles on an Epson printer using a Mac. Now, before this video, I'm assuming that you have already set up your printer and connected it to the computer. The first thing that we need to check is that we're using the correct driver. So, we'll go into System Preferences and select Printers and Scanners. From the menu on the left, you need to select your printer. Today, we're using the example Epson printer. Under "kind," it should show your driver version and your printer model. If it says generic driver or AirPrint, you will need to remove the printer and reinstall it using the correct driver. The generic drivers do not have all the available options for color management or quality, so they are not suitable for sublimation printing. Just make sure you're using the correct driver. Next, we need to download the ICC profile for your printer. You should have received a CD marked ICC with all the profiles on it. If you don't have a disk drive, you can also find a link to download the profiles online. We'll go to the website, select generic profiles for Mac, and find the ICC profile for our printer model. Once downloaded, we'll drag the profile onto the desktop for easy access. The next step is to move the profile into a specific folder on your computer. Your computer will only look in this one folder for ICC profiles, so having it on the desktop isn't really useful. We'll go to "Computer," then "Macintosh HD," "Library," "Color Sync," and "Profiles." Here, you'll find all the profiles on your computer. Just drag the downloaded profile into this folder.
