We want to produce an 8-page flyer for each of our 10 different customers. The PDF we have contains 80 pages. For this reason, we will refer to each customer's 8-page flyer as a data record. Generally, we encounter two issues when processing personalized documents that are not optimized. Firstly, pre-flight of the documents and the DfE can take a significant amount of time. Secondly, documents of certain production types, like our flyer, cannot be imposed correctly if the print settings are not customized. In this case, the pages will be placed as if it were an 80-page flyer, but we need them to be arranged for an 8-page flyer. To achieve this, we will define the required settings on the qualified sequence, set to convert PDF to PDF VT and normalize the document. Additionally, we need to enter the number of pages per data record. Once done, we will save the qualified sequence with a descriptive name. Now, we need to import the PDF document into the new qualified sequence and start the job. It is important to select the new qualified sequence because we customized the settings. Consequently, only the eight pages of the first data record will be checked, allowing pre-flight to be done quickly. Now, we can proceed with the print settings. Go to the digital printing step and load the page print sequence that was previously saved during the first production. You will see that the eight-page flyer is now correctly imposed. Finally, submit the job to the press. When you confirm your data, you can send your job to the press.
