True, so let's see how we work with Prolog on the Mac. The first thing we need to do is download SWI Prolog. So, we'll go to swiprolog.org and click the download link for SWI Prolog release. Then, select the Macintosh version that is compatible with your operating system. In this case, since we are installing it on an Intel Mac, we'll choose that version. Allow the download to complete. Once the download is complete, go to your downloads and open the disk image for SWI Prolog. It may take a few minutes for it to open as a zip file. Inside the disk image, you'll find a shortcut to your Applications folder. Double-click on it to open the Applications folder. Create a new folder for Prolog and copy the SWI Prolog program files into that folder. Once that is done, move the disk image to a convenient location. Next, double-click on SWI Prolog to open the application. You may receive a warning because it is not a verified developer. Click cancel and then control-click on SWI Prolog and choose open. This will allow you to open the application without the warning appearing again. Now, let's move on to editing a Prolog file. You can use any editor of your choice. I prefer using MacVim. Zoom in on the font, if necessary. Let's write some Prolog facts. Once you have finished editing the file, you need to save it somewhere. It is recommended to have a specific folder for your code in your personal directory. I will name this folder "code" and save the file as "setup.pl".
