True" Well hey guys, welcome to the channel. Today, I'm going to talk about one thing that I was very bad about - procrastinating and not getting it done. I kept putting it off until I realized there is one key factor: getting my kayak registered. If you have a kayak and want to put a trolling motor or any type of motor on it, I advise you to go ahead and get it registered. I put it off for a while, but then I realized the cost of getting a ticket versus the cost of actually registering it with the Texas Parks and Wildlife. I will put a link in the description below for you to see all the registration requirements, costs, and fees. There will also be links to the website for more information. If you are caught without registration, you could face fines. The unregistered vessel fine is $250, but I paid a total of $127 to get my kayak registered. When I initially looked it up, I thought it would be cheaper, but there were additional fines and fees included. Therefore, I suggest taking about $200 in cash when visiting the Texas Parks and Wildlife office. They do not accept credit or debit cards, but possibly debit cards. They prefer cash or checks, so be prepared or bring a checkbook. To get your kayak registered, you will need your bill of sale, which I obtained from Academy. They provided a signed bill of sale and made the process easy for me. I'm not sure why I procrastinated since Academy was so helpful. Additionally, you will need your state ID and the vessel registration application. I will include the link for the application in the description, but you can also get it directly from the Texas Parks...
