Mike Cameron, the Director of Admission at RISD, introduced himself and mentioned that this webinar provides an opportunity to meet and speak with the team who will review applications and portfolios. He also highlighted the excitement about announcing the new RISD assignment for the next admission cycle. Following the introduction, Lily Harmon, a teacher in the Landscape Architecture department, and the coordinator for the undergraduate concentration in Nature Culture and Sustainability Studies, introduced herself. She expressed her excitement about the webinar. Isabelle Sanchez, an admissions officer and RISD alumna from the painting department, introduced herself next. She passed it over to Kara Skolnik, another admissions officer and RISD alumna from the illustration department. Kara expressed their enthusiasm for the webinar and how they all love RISD. They acknowledged that the RISD assignment is often a topic of concern for applicants, as it is open-ended and can be confusing or intimidating. They assured that this webinar would provide a more in-depth understanding of the assignment, its evaluation, and tips on how to approach it. They concluded by mentioning that they would address questions from participants at the end of the presentation. Participants were encouraged to submit their questions in the questions tab below.
