Hi, this is Travis from posguys.com. Today, we're reviewing the Zebra RFD 8500. This is a tool that converts a smartphone into a full-fledged mobile computer for inventory management, point-of-sale, and any other tasks requiring barcode scanning or RFID capabilities. It can be used with various mobile devices, including older Windows Mobile units, iPhones, iPods, and Android Galaxy smartphones. The RFD 8500 can easily snap on and pair with any supported cell phone. It is compatible with Android, iOS, Windows, and any other Bluetooth-enabled barcode scanner. Pairing the device is simple; just go into your settings, find the device, click on it, and pair it. By default, it is in a wedge mode where it scans wherever the cursor is on the screen. This 2D barcode scanner can scan both 1D and 2D barcodes from any angle on the screen. It is user-friendly and ideal for inventory management tasks. Simply bring up a note on your device and start scanning. The scanner is programmed to automatically do a carriage return after each scan, allowing you to easily save multiple barcodes. Additionally, it has the capability to scan RFID tags. By pressing the mode button located on the side of the device, it switches to RFID mode and scans the tags on the screen. Even from a general proximity, it can successfully scan RFID tags. However, RFID scanning does not offer the same accuracy as barcode scanning. Switching back to barcode scanning is as easy as pushing the button again, and the imaging lights will come on. For more advanced functionality, you can use the available SDK to directly program the scanner into your app. This allows scanning outside of the cursor's position. Overall, the device is great for inventory management and point-of-sale purposes. It is perfect for scanning part numbers...
