When I first started my business, an attorney helped me form an LLC, but they charged me $5,000 for their services. Thankfully, it doesn't have to be that expensive anymore. In this video, you're going to learn how to open your own LLC in New Jersey in just a matter of minutes. The first step is to head over to the New Jersey portal, specifically the business formation page. We have a link for it right down below. Once you're on that page, I want you to follow along. It's very simple. First, you have to pick a unique name that doesn't already exist. If your desired name is taken, you can try adding a variation or an additional word. Once you've picked a name, you'll need to decide what kind of LLC you want to open. In most cases, you'll be opening a domestic LLC, which means it will be operating within the United States. I'll show you on my screen exactly what to do next. Let's say for this example, we're using the business name "Fake Name Ventures." We'll select the drop-down menu and choose "New Jersey Domestic Limited Liability Company." Then, we'll proceed to the next page and select a business designator.
