Many Dakota Digital products feature Bluetooth technology, allowing them to connect to a mobile device and sync with our free app. Through the app, you can complete the initial setup process and adjust your preferences. The app also helps with troubleshooting. Furthermore, if you want to view gauge information on your tablet or phone without editing settings, you can pair the app to receive real-time data. Dakota Digital currently supports separate apps for HDX and RTX series automotive instrument systems, various automotive accessories, and MLX series motorcycle instruments. You can find the appropriate Dakota Digital app on Play and the Apple App Store. This video will guide you through the steps to connect your Dakota Digital product (HDX or RTX system, MLX motorcycle instruments, or PAC series accessory with BT in the part number) to both Apple and Android devices. To start, enter the HDX or RTX setup menu and enable Bluetooth. You can choose "always on" for quick adjustments or real-time gauge readings, or "setup only" for the initial pairing. Stay in setup mode before attempting to pair with Bluetooth. Next, open the Dakota Digital Automotive App on your Apple device and pair it if this is the first time connecting with an instrument system. If you have used the app with multiple instrument systems before, you may see a list. We recommend forgetting past systems when they are no longer needed. For Android pairing, enable Bluetooth on your device and select your instruments from the nearby devices list. It is important to pair before opening the app. For MLX series motorcycle instruments, turn on Bluetooth in the setup menu and choose whether to have Bluetooth always on when the ignition is on or only in setup mode.
